Vice President

Vice President

Sahar Latheef

Ticket: Vision

Hello! My name is Sahar Latheef and I am a PhD student at the National Security College, Crawford School of Public Policy. I am running for the position of Vice President at PARSA because I am passionate about making the ANU postgraduate community an inclusive community.

I first became involved in PARSA in 2016 as a General Representative and then as Equity Officer in the same year. What makes me the best candidate for Vice President is my experience within PARSA and as a current HDR student and a former Masters student at the ANU. Having completed four Masters degrees while caring for my two gorgeous children and working part-time, I can understand the challenges that come with postgraduate life. This is what drives me to ensure that student wellbeing continues to be our first priority. I am dedicated to making ANU family friendly to ensure that students with families living near and far receive the best support that they can get.

I am running as a member of the ticket Vision for PARSA, alongside an excellent and dedicated team of candidates who are just as committed to improving the ANU and the experiences of its students. Please visit our website if you would like to know more about our values and policies.

My vision for all postgrads at the ANU is to be able to reflect positively on their time here and say it was the best experience of their lives!

Stephan Modest

Ticket: Empower

Hi, I am Stephan and I want to be your next PARSA Vice President! Originally, I am from Germany, but I have been living in Australia for over three years now. Here at ANU, I’m in my third Semester of Master of International Relations at the College of Asia and the Pacific. Many of you probably know me through my initiatives as Student Representative for the IR Department, Student Ambassador for Study Canberra, O-Week Leader and ANU+ Mentor. You also may have seen me play at the PARSA Sunday Social Soccer or read my profiles and posts for Faces of ANU. Each have been a fantastic experience which has allowed me to gain valuable insights into the daily life experience of students and helped me learn about issues and concerns ranging from academic to campus life, the accommodation situation and a range of other topics challenging our ANU students. As your PARSA Vice President, I would do my very best to

  • make PARSA an inclusive, accessible and innovative student body which has students interests at its core
  • ensure that your voice is heard, and issues and challenges will be dealt with in a professional manner
  • bring students together by organizing incredible events and activities and make your time here at ANU an unforgettable experience
  • build a strong relationship between PARSA and the various student societies, clubs and associations
