Hello Friends! My name is Chahat Chugh. I am running for the position of College of Business and Economics Representative. I am in the second year of my Masters of Finance program. Previously, I completed my Bachelors (Hons) in Economics from University of Delhi, India.

Throughout my academic life, I have been a part of multiple Student Representative Councils. At ANU, I served as the Vice President of Public Relations of Toastmasters Club where I learned a lot about communication and management.

In my first year at ANU, I experienced that many students at CBE are not appropriately associated with the college, companies and local organizations and hence are devoid of many opportunities. One of my main agenda items is to bridge the gap between academia and industry which would help the students experience real business situations.I aim to solve this by creating more internship opportunities for students.

As a member of PARSA, I would endeavor to arrange events where students can obtain guidance to progress their careers such as workshops related to improving communication and leadership skills. I aim to promote interaction between students and cultivate an environment where students can get involved in fun activities to release stress throughout the semester.

I believe it is vital to empower the student body with a voice that will stand up for their rights and I have the passion for it.

Feel free to come up to me around the campus and approach me with your queries.

Hi, I’m Wei, a second-year Master of Accounting student running for the PARSA College of Business and Economics Representative Position. Being an international student from China, I noticed many students are facing the same problems I have. For example, some students find it difficult to gain internship experience. Therefore, I founded the ANU Chinese Business Collaboration which aims to help Chinese international students adapt Australian business culture and improve their employability.

However, I realize more can be done for all postgraduate and research students in the CBE. Thus, I decided to bring my experience to PARSA to help all students. There are three things I would like to do as the CBE representative. Firstly, as an international student who understands the pressure of finding a job, I will continue to cooperate with the university and industry partners to create internship opportunities for CBE students in both Australia and overseas. In addition, I would also like to arrange workshops for students to enhance their practical skills. Secondly, I would like to organize more social events in CBE for students to bond and celebrate culture diversity. And lastly, I will encourage students to actively involved in PARSA’s activities by joining as volunteers. This will not only enhance communication between students and PARSA, but also provide students with volunteering experience.

The Progress team is here serve the postgraduate and research students, and I believe with my experience as the president of the ANU Chinese Business Collaboration, I can bring progress to the CBE.

My name is Kai Yang and I come from China. I am a postgraduate student and major in Finance. I would like to apply for the CBE Representative this year. I used to work as an officer at Student Union during my undergraduate years, from which I have accumulated rich experience in student administration and understood student management procedures. I think this experience will give me a better efficiency when I conduct my job. If I was honored to take this job, I would try my best to serve all the students when they need a hand and try to organize more meaningful activities to enrich our university life.
