Greetings everyone!
I hope that everyone who has had exams and final assignments is feeling more relaxed now that the exam period is ending and mid-year break begins!
As usual, we have plenty happening in PARSA! Work is underway for our O-week and Welcome Week taking place 16 July – 28 July. We also have the 1st anniversary of the Australian Human Rights Commission’s Change the Course: National Report on Sexual Assault and Sexual Harassment at Australian Universities taking place on 1 August.
Some highlights over the past few weeks, we have been running our free coffee promotion to support you through exams; holding an Iftar event to support and celebrate with our fellow postgraduates who have taking part in Ramadan; launching the 2nd edition of the Bossy magazine; our IDAHOBIT afternoon tea and Respectful Relationships Forum. There will also be many events and activities coming your way before semester two starts back.
Very importantly, we also launched the PARSA Strategic Plan 2018 – 2021. This plan is the first ever for PARSA and acts to clarify our purpose and goals over the coming years. This was based on member feedback from our Postgraduate Survey last year - so thank you for everyone who took part in responding to the survey and for everyone who came along to the launch event last week.
All the best for the rest of June, and I hope you enjoy the semester break and have some well-deserved rest.
Best wishes,
Alyssa - PARSA President
